Atlas Copco: a new competitor in the 60 kg weight class

With the new LF60 LA/LAT forward soil and asphalt plate, Atlas Copco sets another milestone in history of asphalt compaction. It’s the first 60 kg asphalt plate compactor with integrated water distribution system. Efficiency, performance and quality just got a whole lot lighter.

The new LF60 LA/LAT compactor is extremely flexible and easy to handle, much thanks to the light weight, which enables a new way of working on asphalt. It does not only provide a greater freedom for the operator. It also makes it a lot easier for transportation, making it a valuable tool for almost any maintenance task.

With the success of today’s range of asphalt plates – LF75, LF80, LF100 – we are now completing the range with a 60 kg class plate”, says Kjell Helgesson, Product & Application Specialist Light Compaction.

Until now, Atlas Copco’s proven water distribution system have only been reserved for the larger models. One of its big advantages is that it frees up valuable time that previously went to bottom plate cleaning, pipe cleaning and other time-wasting maintenance jobs.

Kjell Helgesson continues: ”A great benefit with our water distributor system is that it leaves no marks on asphalt. The design and shape of the bottom plate makes it easy to turn and it is also equipped with our patented low vibration handle, resulting in hand and arm vibrations of 1.9 m/s2,  which makes operating and maneuvering easy and pleasant.”
