Atlas Copco has completed its Dynapac range of single drum soil rollers with its new CA1300 and CA1500 models. Like the other CA models, the CA1300 and CA1500 feature fuel-efficient interim Tier 4/Tier 4 Final engines, improved serviceability, built-in safety functions and increased operator comfort. Other features include optimized amplitude for superior compaction performance and Active Bouncing Control (ABC) that prevents damage to the machine and over-compaction. With static linear loads ranging from 70 to 365 pounds per inch, the entire CA roller line is ideal for compacting a range of materials, from sand and gravel to rock fill plus silt and clay.

The new CA rollers are available with fuel-efficient interim Tier 4 engines. (The CA1300 is offered with a 75 hp Tier 4 Final engine.) The ECO fuel-saving system minimizes fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by giving the roller only the amount of power that is necessary to operate.

The thick drum shell on the rollers extends running time before a drum change is required. A scraper blade with an innovative divided design keeps the drum free of material during operation.
 
Active Bouncing Control prevents damage and prolongs roller life by eliminating drum double jump, or over-compacting, an action that can destroy components in the machine.
A service interval alert indicates when service is required and what action to take. The engine hood easily opens for maintenance, and the hydraulic pumps are in line with the engine and fully accessible for service.

The cross-mounted engine is easily accessible and gives both optimal weight distribution and ease of transportation as it keeps down machine length. The noise level is very low because the cooling air intake is placed at the top of the hood with the outlet down the sides, combined with the ejector exhaust outlet. 

Dynapac’s advanced control systems – CompBase software, Compaction Meter and analyzer on the roller, and Compaction Analyzer – enable the user to control the entire rolling process. CostCtrl software and an extended warranty enable customers to gain full control over life-cycle costs and maximize machine availability.

The ergonomically designed, air conditioned cabs offer operator comfort and good visibility. Safety functions include Electronic Drive Control with a “quick brake” function, which shortens braking distances if the lever is moved very fast, and a tilt indicator. Loss of traction is swiftly counteracted by a toggling gear shifting system or an optional anti-spin system.
