Atlas Copco Compressors GA VSD+ Compressor Wins Plant Engineering 2013 Product of the Year Silver Award
Atlas Copco’s new GA VSD+ range of compact, oil-injected rotary screw compressors was honored with a Silver Award at the 2013 Product of the Year award ceremony hosted by Plant Engineering magazine. Now in its 26th development by identifying and honoring the best new products in the manufacturing industry based on a reader survey.
“It’s always exciting to compete against the best new products in the industry and to see how companies in our industry are innovating and improving,” said Robert Eshelman, vice president, Atlas Copco’s Industrial Air Division in the United States. “For Atlas Copco, the GA VSD+ represents one of the most innovative changes to rotary screw technology since we launched the world’s first variable speed drive compressor in 1994.”
Atlas Copco recently extended the GA VSD+ range of oil-injected rotary screw compressors through 50 hp (37 kW). With the extension, VSD+ technology is now available for 75 percent of the oil-injected screw compressor applications worldwide and customers in most industries can economically justify switching to variable speed drive technology, ultimately reducing energy costs and contributing to a more sustainable industry.
