Atlas Copco Compressors Showcases New Vacuum Technology for Packaging Applications at 2015 Pack Expo – Booth #S-6096

Atlas Copco Compressors will showcase the new GHS VSD+ range of rotary screw vacuum pumps with variable speed drive and the GA VSD+ range of oil-injected rotary screw compressors at PACK EXPO 2015. Hosted from Sept. 28-30 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, PACK EXPO showcases the latest advances in packaging and processing.

In addition, Atlas Copco’s Deepak Vetal, product marketing manager, oil-free compressors, will give a presentation on food safety, compressed air and the importance of ISO 22000 Certification in food and beverage manufacturing. Atlas Copco is the first compressor manufacturer to receive ISO 22000 Certification by Lloyds Register for its production facility in Antwerp, Belgium, which manufactures state-of-the-art, oil-free air compressors, blowers and air treatment products. In the presentation, Vetal will discuss what ISO 22000 compliance means, why compliance is important for food and beverage manufacturers, and how compressed air impacts the food and beverage industry. This presentation will take place at booth S-7632 Food Safety Summit Resource Center on Sept. 30 from 9:30-10 a.m.

Representatives will be available at the Atlas Copco exhibit (booth No. S-6096) to discuss the features and benefits of the new GHS VSD+ series. This range of variable speed drive oil-injected screw vacuum systems dramatically reduces lifecycle costs through innovative vacuum controls and energy efficient variable speed drive (VSD) technology. The new range reduces energy usage by up to 50 percent with significantly better performance benchmarked against traditional oil-sealed and dry vane vacuum pumps. It features low noise levels and reduced environmental impact due to ultra-high oil retention at all operating pressures, and conforms to energy management and environmental commitments according to ISO 50001/14001. This new vacuum technology suits an array of packaging applications – from food and beverage to pharmaceutical, general manufacturing, bottling and more.

Event attendees can also learn about the GA VSD+ range of oil-injected rotary screw air compressors, including its innovative design that reduces energy consumption by up to 50 percent and allows for a compact footprint and low noise levels.

“With the new GHS technology, packaging companies are now able to reduce their energy usage by up to 50 percent while also maintaining the quality of their end-product,” said Robert Eshelman, vice president of Atlas Copco’s U.S. Industrial Air Division. “The state-of-the-art technology found in the new GHS VSD+ contributes to our expanding portfolio of vacuum products designed to meet the needs of customers in a range of packaging applications.”

Atlas Copco representatives will be available at booth No. S-6096 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 28-30.
