Atlas Copco CMT USA appoints four to new positions


Atlas Copco has appointed Shane Roden, Matt Juth, Matt Huntsman, and Rhodes Barrett to new positions within Atlas Copco Construction Mining Technique USA.

Shane Roden has been appointed to the position of product manager for GIA and raise boring products, effective April 1. In his new role, Roden will report directly to Ed Tanner, business line manager for underground rock excavation products. Roden’s responsibilities will include managing the introduction and growth of the newly acquired GIA underground products (utility vehicles, ventilation products, locomotives, and “Haggloaders”) and the growth of the existing raise boring product line. Previously, Roden provided technical support to the mining and construction markets for Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions (ADS) and Atlas Copco’s Surface Drilling Equipment business lines. He holds an MBA and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama.
Matt Juth has been appointed product manager for load/haul/dump (LHD) and pedestal boom system (PBS) products, effective March 12. In his new position, Juth will report directly to Ed Tanner. Juth will also be responsible for managing projects involving the introduction of the newly acquired GIA Kiruna electric underground trucks to the U.S. market. Juth comes to Atlas Copco from the mining industry, where he was most recently a senior mine engineer. He is a graduate of Colorado School of Mines, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
Matt Huntsman joins Atlas Copco CMT USA as product manager for distributor parts and services, located in the Commerce City, Colo., headquarters facility. In his new role, Huntsman supports the sales efforts of district managers and business line managers. He comes to Atlas Copco with over 15 years’ experience developing national marketing and sales campaigns.  
Rhodes Barrett has been appointed to the position of product specialist for blasthole drills as part of the ADS team in Garland, Texas. Barrett now reports to Jon Torpy, business line manager for ADS blasthole drills. Barrett’s attention is focused primarily on operator training for U.S. customers via Atlas Copco’s company stores and dealer network, as well as helping to develop other ADS training offerings. Barrett started his career with ADS in South Africa in 2003, where he was responsible for the first two PV-351 Pit Viper rigs sold into Africa. In 2005 he transferred to Garland, TX.  He has more than 40 years of drilling experience in mining, construction and exploration applications.
