Atlas Copco Hurricane to integrate with Atlas Copco Construction Equipment

2010-01-26

December 17, 2009 – Commerce City, CO – As of January 1, 2010, Atlas Copco Construction Equipment (ACCE) will be responsible for the sales and service of Atlas Copco Hurricane boosters in the United States.

This transition will allow ACCE to offer a more complete product range of portable compressors and boosters to customers in the oil, gas, water well and mining industries who need high pressure compressed air or nitrogen up to 5000 psi.

In the United States, the Hurricane booster product line will be sold by the existing ACCE sales team. ACCE has appointed Blake Gearhart as Product & Business Development Manager for high pressure compressors and boosters. Gearhart will support dealers and customers and develop new business opportunities for Hurricane boosters in the U.S.

Atlas Copco Hurricane in Franklin, Indiana, will continue to be a world-leading provider of portable booster products and services, a competence center for oil and gas compressors and boosters, and an OEM solution provider for customized portable air and gas compressors.

Also effective January 1, Daryl Heiser will become Application and Product Support manager at Atlas Copco Hurricane, replacing Richard Baker, who will retire in 2010. Heiser will be responsible for Atlas Copco Hurricane’s marketing department, providing product, technical service and aftermarket support to Atlas Copco customer centers and their customers  around the world.

The integration will strengthen our offering to the high pressure markets, giving our dealers and customers a more complete range of compressors and boosters from one single source,” said Erik Sparby, General Manager of Atlas Copco Construction Equipment.
