Atlas Copco will feature equipment at the 2014 Permian Basin International Oil Show that offers the total package to oil and gas drilling operations.

“This is a very exciting time for us here at Atlas Copco,” said Delaney Erickson, business development specialist for oil and gas products. “We have a long history of success in air drilling and with our line of drilling rigs. The new Atlas Copco lines of premium PDC bits, Klaw bits, and Plugmaster drill-out bits complete the package with the latest technologies for our customers.”
Anyone who watches one of the daily RD20 mobile drilling rig demonstrations at the Atlas Copco booth can enter for the chance to win a die cast model car or VIP Experience tickets to a Stewart-Haas Racing event with the chance to meet Kurt Busch.
Demonstration times are noon and 2 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday.
The RD20 is a truck-mounted drill rig with120,000 lb. pullback, whose versatility for well development has made it increasingly popular throughout the Permian Basin.
Attendees also will be able to view the new XRVS 1550+ compressor that produces 1,550 cfm and delivers air at 500 psi.
Other high-pressure air equipment on display will include the Atlas Copco B7-41/1000 and B4-41/1000 Hurricane boosters. The single-stage air or nitrogen boosters offer capacities comparable to much larger models but in a smaller package. At maximum suction capacity of 350 psi, the B4-41/1000 flows 1,400 cfm pressurized to 1,000 psi. The B7-41/1000 will deliver 2,440 cfm with the same maximum suction pressure at 1,000 psi.

Rounding out the tooling display is the Atlas Copco Secoroc three-component EDGE drill monitoring system for deep down-the-hole drilling. EDGE provides drillers the means to “see” the bit at the bottom of the hole for highest precision, lowest-cost drilling operations.
“We are strengthening our position to be the first choice when choosing a supplier to support an entire drilling operation, from rig to bit,” Erickson said. “The new products we’re showing at PBIOS and exciting developments on the drawing board–along with the features of Atlas Copco products and the benefits of our product support–demonstrate our commitment to helping oil-development professionals excel in today’s market.”
PBIOS is one of the largest petroleum exhibitions in the world, held every two years in Odessa. This event showcases the latest industry technology, honors the industry’s history and brings together people from every segment of the petroleum industry.
