Atlas Copco Compressors is again throwing support behind Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by sponsoring a fundraising event with the Charlotte (N.C.) Chapter to “Swing for the Cure” at Charlotte Knights Stadium on Aug. 15.

“The search for a cure for Juvenile Diabetes is important to Atlas Copco’s employees, and we are proud to once again join the Charlotte Knights and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to back this critical cause,” said Paul Hense, president of Rock Hill, S.C.-based Atlas Copco Compressors LLC, which is located just a few miles from the Fort Mill, S.C., baseball stadium.

“This is a great opportunity to help raise money and awareness while also enjoying an evening of family fun out at the ball park,” Hense said.
This is the second consecutive year Atlas Copco has joined with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights baseball team to help raise money and awareness for JDRF through ticket sales and an auction of game-worn, one-of-a-kind JDRF jerseys signed by the Knights’ players.

The company is holding a drawing to determine which employee will have the honor of throwing out the first pitch of the game as the Knights, the Chicago White Sox Triple-A affiliate, take on the Norfolk (Va.) Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, at 7:15 p.m.
In addition to supporting JDRF, the baseball game provides Atlas Copco Compressors with a unique, family-friendly way to celebrate its role in the community. The proceeds of the jersey auction and a portion of ticket sales for the night go towards research needed to cure juvenile diabetes.
