Refinery Project Utilizing 114 Air Compressors at 200,000 cfm No one else in the industry can support large, multi-unit jobs like Atlas Copco Prime Energy; nor would they have the experience to pull off a job of this magnitude with such success. The job was for a refinery located on the Houston Ship Channel. The project required the use of 114 portable air compressors for a shutdown of the refinery’s permanent blower while a coupler was replaced, all the while continuing to operate its FCCU.  

Atlas Copco Prime Energy met with refinery engineers and determined that the process required 100% oil-free compressed air delivered at the rate of 200,000 cfm. Prime Energy mobilized the 114 portable air compressors from throughout the United States and delivered them, along with the necessary hoses and manifolds, within 96 hours as promised. In addition to equipment, Atlas Copco Prime Energy supplied two four-man teams to monitor the equipment 24 hours a day in 12-hour shifts. The equipment performed as required and kept the FCCU operating for the four days it took to complete the refinery repairs.
